Marina Panzhinskaya was born in Moscow, she is an engineer by degree and a financial professional by trade. She is also a passionate and dedicated quilter during her free time.
Her quilting journey started back in 2005 during the memorable Katrina and Rita hurricane season. She had found her inspiration when she saw a handmade quilt at the friend?s house that sheltered her family. Marina very quickly realized that this unique craft would help her unlock hidden creativity and spark her love for design whilst also putting her sewing skills, which she learned during childhood from her grandmother, to good use.
After ten years (and many hand-stitched quilts) she returned back to Houston. She spent a lot of time and effort to polish her free-motion quilting skills using her beloved Janome domestic machine. Learning from books, QuiltFest displays and Instagram feeds she gained the confidence to start making her own designs with the needle.
Now, Marina is ready to make the next step in her journey and start sharing her passion, skills, and practical techniques with the fellow quilters who want to push the boundaries of their domestic machine knowledge to the next level.
